"New Girl" Pilot Review

I watched Zooey Deschanel's new show "New Girl" last night and I LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  It was SO funny and Zooey's character Jess is just adorkable and I can I seriously relate at times!!!!! LOL  ;)  It's quirky, which I think my parents had a hard time getting the humor, but for most of us in our 20s and 30s would love it!!! :D  I like the guys Jess lives with too Schmidt, Nick, and Coach!!! :D  I just wonder how they will write out Coach since the actor who plays him is on an ABC show and they are replacing his character with another named Winston.  But this show was great, funny, and even the theme song (full version is 2 mins long) is adorable!!! :D  I will totally watch this the rest of the season!!!  :D

Writer's Block: 9/11

Where were you?

It's so hard to believe it's been 10 years since 9/11.  I was 15 in my sophomore English class when another English teacher told mine to turn on the TV and whispered something to him.   The first plane has already hit and watching all of this with the other kids was just horrifying.   It almost didn't feel real and like a bad dream or we were in some sort of movie.  We all got to go home early that day and I just wanted to be with my parents, brother, and dog and try to find some sense of normalcy.   I still remember how blue the sky was with no plane traffic and sunny, and how quite it was outside and just listening to the quiet.

So much has changed in these 10 years for everyone.  One of them is that my very good friend Mark isn't here anymore as he passed away back in April after his motorcycle accident.  Mark was in my English class too and we all watched it together.  I never would have thought he would be gone in 10 years time and so much happened to both of us because of 9/11.  He going into the military, and my struggle with fear, anxiety, and depression which I've now have been better for a couple years.

RIP to everyone who passed on 9/11 and my thoughts and prayers are still with all of the family members left behind.
I finished reading Emily Giffin's 3rd novel "Baby Proof" and I just loved it!!! :D Emily is another one of my favorite authors, and this book did not disappoint!!! :D

I really loved reading Claudia's story and all the changes that happened to her through out the book. I did have a hard time at first understanding how she didn't want to be a mother and how it tore her marriage to Ben apart, but that's because I've wanted to be a mom since I was a toddler. LOL ;) I really liked how Emily wrote Claudia and how her story with Ben went. I really didn't know where this book was going to go and I loved that!!! It ended perfectly too!!! :D

I really liked the supporting characters of Claudia's sisters, best friend Jess, and her co-workers. I also liked how Emily tied in her first novel "Something Borrowed" and it's sequel "Something Blue" by having a character appear in this story as well!!! :D It was a great twist and I like when authors keep their books connected. ;)

And I loved all the references to "Wuthering Heights", one of my all-time FAV novels too!!!!!!  <3

I just loved this book and I can't wait to read Emily's other novels!!! :D

Top 10 Fav Disney Cartoon Films

Saw that a lot of my LJ friends were doing this and figured I should as well. ;)  It was very hard to rank my favorite Disney films. LOL  They are SO many that I have always loved.  It's a part of my childhood and I just love these films.  For this list we can only use cartoons, so no live action.  And it's debatable if you wanted to use the Pixar ones too, which I did.  :)  So I think I got it narrowed down to  my top 10.  :D

"Wuthering Heights" 2009 Film Review

My DVD I ordered after my birthday of the 2009 version of "Wuthering Heights" finally came today and I LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  In ways more than the book for adding things I had a feeling went down between Heathcliff & Cathy!!!!!!!!!  :D  Even with the changes (including how Heathcliff eventually dies) it worked SO well and was just AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  <3

Tom Hardy is PERFECT as Heathcliff and Charlotte Riley was just SO great as Cathy!!!!!!!!!  :D  All the other actors were so great too and I just loved how this was made!!! :D  I really liked the actors who played Hearton and Cathy2 and they made such a cute couple too!!!!!!! <3

I don't think I'll ever be able to like another version of one of my all-time FAV books!!! LOL  ;)

There was a few things I wish they would have left in like Mr. Earnshaw letting Heathcliff and Cathy sharing their bedroom after Hindley left, and the time Hindley dropped baby Hearton down the stairs and Heathcliff was the one who caught him and saved him which foreshadowed Hearton looking up to Heathcliff like a father.  ;)  But that's always in the book.  :D

And I just LOVE how this film is how Tom and Charlotte met since I've known they've been engaged for awhile!!!!!!!!!  <3  :D  It's like Heathcliff and Cathy are getting their happy ending after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  <3

"One Day" Film Review

I just saw the film "One Day" with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess and it was SO great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D  I read the book last October and you can see my review here (Spoiler Warning!!!), and I was hoping it's be just as great and it was!!! :D  I should have expected that since the novel's author David Nicholls wrote the film.  ;)  Anne and Jim were just perfect as Emma and Dex!!!!! :D  Just such a great movie!!!!!!!  :D

I finally read "Wuthering Heights" and it was just fantastic!!! :D  I never got to read this book in high school like most I know did, so I always wanted to. I just love this story of Cathy and Heathcliff!!! <3  Such a tragic love story and I just adore it!!! :D  Not to mention also Hearton and Cathy2. ;)   I've always loved the Jane Austen era and now finally reading the Bronte sisters it just goes along with it!!! :D  This is now another of my all-time favorites!!!  Now I just need to watch the 2009 film with Tom Hardy!!!  :D

Plus, I had no idea that Death Cab for Cutie's song "Cath" was written about this book!!!!!!!!! :D  I always loved that song and now it just makes even more sense knowing what it was based off of!!!  :D
OMG, Paul McCartney's concert was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  He played 35 songs with NO breaks and SO many great ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  I'm so glad I was finally able to go see him and one of The Beatles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  Amazed me how so many generations of people where there. ;)  There was kids as young as 4 or 5 all the way up to people in the 80s!!!!! :D

Paul sounds exactly the same and he still rocks for a 69-year-old!!!!!!!!! :D  If you want to see the full set list it's over here on Paul's official site:

My Mom and I both loved it and it was an awesome mother/daughter road trip too!!!!!!! :D  Pretty awesome too when 4 girls dressed up in the Sgt. Peppers outfits got to go on state and they came all the way to Ohio from England & Australia!!!!!! :D  And the guy from Cincy who had a sign that said "Sign my wife" and the wife's sign said "Paul sign me"!!!!!!!! LOL  :D  Just hilarious and Paul really did!!! :D

The George tribute to "Something" was just amazing and SO heartfelt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  <3  LOVED all the pics Paul had of George!!!!!!!!!!!!  :D  And the John tribute was great too!!!!!! :D

Loved the vid too at the begining of all the old Beatles pics and Wings pics!!! :D  And of course Linda's video of Paul with daughters Heather and Mary (as a baby).  And the fireworks let off during "Live & Let Die"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Did think it was funny some of the fellow 20 somethings Beatles fans there who didn't know Paul's solo or Wings song?!?!  :O  OMG, how can you NOT know Wings or Paul's solo songs????  LOL  ;)  They were actually my Mom's favorite.  ;)

I just had a fantastic time and it was just SO epic and I'll always remember it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D  It probably is "once in a lifetime" for both my Mom and I and I'm SO happy this finally worked out for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
